- For example, a rancher may want to finance 500 acres and his (or her) personal residence with a 15 year maturity/fixed interest rate loan, amortized to 25 years, with annual payments of interest and principal.
- Typical dairy and poultry loans carry a 15 year term/amortization, a fixed interest rate, with payments based on an assignment of the contract.
- A timber or ranchland tract may be used to secure a revolving line of credit. This is similar to a home equity loan, with variable draw periods and terms. The borrower may take out and repay funds at any time during the draw period.
